Vastu Shastra Ancient Steps for Home Automation

Ancient manuals of architecture in Sanskrit is Known as Vastu Shastra. As long as faith and belief exist, there will be a sense of belief on Vastu Shastra. These books provided guidelines to construct temples, homes, and to develop townships. Yes, some may not agree with these Shastras but equally, there is a majority who sense faith on these scriptures. Though you may take lightly and disagree to follow the same, but remember if you do so it may affect the resale value of your property.

Over the year weather, whatever the perceptions be, people are developing the properties in Bangalore according to the Shastras. If at all they are purchasing a developed flat or apartment they are getting it renovated through Vastu renovation services.  Well, there are many sets of rules and principles one must follow to abide Vastu Shastra.

Though it’s quite a complicated theory, the information in this post is simplified and accordingly has everything you should know when you’re looking to build, purchase or renovate the houses.
Vastu Shastra Ancient Steps for Home Automation

Steps 1 - Things to do before construction:

Performing Bhoomi Pooja i.e. worshipping the land is recommended before starting construction of the house. Usually, this pooja is performed along with some construction materials. This pooja is recognized as an auspicious commencement and also considered that it will avoid all the present and upcoming hurdles.

Step 2 - Ideal House Entrance:

To bring in the positive energy into the house right from the sunrise Shastras recommend keeping the house entrance facing towards east direction. It also brings the light along with the energy. If you have trouble in keeping the entrance in the east, then you may also keep it towards the northeast direction which almost gives you the same benefit.

Step 3 - Location for Kitchen:

The kitchen shouldn’t be in the direction of the main door of the house (i.e. entrance). For having prosperity in your home, the ideal location of the kitchen should be in the southeast corner. Also, note that you should supposedly cook food by facing the east direction. One of the Shastras says that having the kitchen in the mentioned form would avoid hazards.

Step 4 - Location for Master Bedroom:

A home which is facing towards east direction, the master bedroom should be situated at the southwest corner. If you follow and build your home according to step 2 and step 3, then it’s guaranteed that your sleep will not be disturbed by the noise of cooking. The shape of the room should have to be square or rectangular, which is mostly recommended. This also gives you a pleasure of living in a modern lifestyle.

Step 5 – Location of Toilet:

At times ‘vastu for a toilet,’ this act can make you laugh as it seems to be bit funny. Fun apart, this aspect is also as vital as the other aspects. From the perception of aesthetics as well as health, toilets should have to construct in the North –West corner of the room or in the North West corner of the building. If you couldn’t build that way alternate is to construct it in the direction of the south-east. Never have a kitchen, toilet and pooja rooms in adjacent which I believe no one would do sensibly.

These are just a few examples on how you can use Vastu for a better pleasure of comfort living. There are enormous other aspect which comes under it. Vastu Shastra can also be said as the ancient home automation guide. The present time, we refer science and technology to automate our houses but during that old days, people used to refer Vastu Shastra. One cannot find a reason to deny either of these as both senses helpful and beneficial to lead a life with comfort.

Construct With Energy Efficient Building Materials

Using the energy efficient building materials are the way of the day. The reason is it saves money and preserves the environment as well.  Nowadays with this trend of energy efficient materials which are in vogue there are many materials of construction that are available that make the houses greener. Of course there are many materials and techniques that make us more energy efficient and in this article we try to enumerate few of the most popular techniques and trends.

Foundation:

Many houses have crawl spaces under them which perpetrates energy loss because the air vents do happen through them. One can check them through installing a crawl space vapor barrier which essentially closes off the crawl space. This obviously allows the cooling and the heating ducts which start working more effectively. These are generally a plastic vapor barrier installed with a crawl space door and a humidifier which can also check the energy loss in the way of stopping mold, rodents, mildew and other such elements.

The Sheathing:
There is an increased usage of paneled sliding, OSB and plywood which are used as a typical structural covering for roofs, floors and walls as well. These materials are made up of veneers of wood, pressed pulp and oriented strand. Another kind of sheathing that is often used is Thermostat OSB Radiant Barrier Sheathing which is radiant barrier sheathing for the roof. This is just a conventional piece of plywood with an added layer of aluminum foil or craft paper laminate on the upper side of it. This helps in reflecting about 95 to 97 percent of the sun’s radiant energy which does not allow the heat to enter to your attic or the room on the roof top. The in turn keeps the roof and the rooms under it cooler.
Insulation:
Insulation prevents the heat to enter the interiors of the house by keeping a layer of a thermal blanket which keeps it cool and warm as well which of course depends on the season. Penetration is a term of a technology often used in the walls, ceilings and floors which causes significant loss of air. Leakage of air is responsible to the extent of 50 percent for the heating of a home and energy loss from the cooling system. Sealing any of the penetrations in the home can be done by using sprayed foam which insulates the attic space which is a substitute for the conventional fiber glass insulation. The sprayed foam is a modified urethane polymer and necessarily a foaming agent. The foam as it is sprayed in to the stud walls, attic floors and trussed roofs, it goes into it and hardens due to expansion. It can then be covered with conventional dry wall.
Shingles:
The shingles are a good option for the home owners who want to substitute the cost of re roofing and new construction of home. Thus the energy efficient materials that are available today can be used by the home owners to erect much more energy efficient green buildings which are not just energy efficient but also cost effective as well.

There shouldn’t be any visible wires:

The wires have been hanging here and there and this might have been the normal way how you have been used to it in your living room. But these things may not be very welcoming and refreshing for any outsider. For you it may be okay but once you remove these you will only like the way the room looks and the organization in it. Once you remove these the attention will be removed and centered to your fun and décor items.

Remove the extra items

Ourliving rooms are the ones which we value the most and more often we tend to bring items like throw pillows or a table top vignette. These may look small at the onset but as time goes these become a huge collection of things which starts looking odd. Throw or store these extra things out of sight and organize your living room into a tidier place.

Remove the clutter on the tables and coffee table

Coffee tables are generally a landing place for all the cluttering of the unnecessary junk like books, remote controls, mobile phones, cigarette packets, ash trays, etc. Keeping this surface clean and less cluttered than other places will set the right tone in your living room. We do not want to mean that you need to take everything off and rearrange the place but you just need to do a bit of a streamlining. That’s all.

Remove uncomfortable seating arrangements

There are many of the times few seating arrangements in the living room that is not so comfortable to sit on. Replace such seating arrangements with comfortable ones or remove them if they are not serving the purpose. This is because most of the time you may not be using them and thus these things unnecessarily occupies the space of your living room.

Organize the dead or empty corners

The living room is obviously the heart and soul of the décor of your whole house. The reason is this is the place where everyone comes and visits. It is the place where people make the first impression about your room décor and taste. Corners of the living rooms are often not decorated in the proper way but the corners of the living room are the focal points opine the expert decorators. You should pay attention to the corners and keep it clean and tidy. The expert interior decorator suggests that you can keep corner tables or even plants at the corners to give it a refreshing look.
Lighting is one of the most important factors that you should concentrate on and this factor is often neglected, say the experts. Whether it is your living room or not the lighting arrangement should be proper in all your rooms. You can even think of a good lighting arrangement like a designer lamp or a nice looking table lamp or even soft candles. But what you need to do is not to clutter too many lights and instead eliminate the unnecessary lights or any bad lights altogether.
